Role Summary/Purpose
The IT security leader will be responsible for developing internal cyber security business relationships and ensuring the Information Security team meets business requirements. He / she will be responsible for the development and execution of the business support lifecycle to include requirements and ongoing operations. The ideal candidate will possess GE and/or industry expertise, interpersonal and client engagement skills and strong project and leadership capabilities.
Essential Responsibilities
IT Security
• Lead the Information Security business engagement program within SSA, including IT Risk integration and day-to-day hands-on activities in collaboration with global IT security team
• Manage the development and implementation of the SSA security Issue Management Tracker
• Ensure Corporate IT Security tools and processes meet regulatory requirements
• Establish and maintain business / IT Security relationship
• Identify specific regional risks and suggest/execute appropriate mitigation
• Understand business objectives, priorities, drivers and technology focus areas
• Develop strategy with business leaders and IT leaders to proactively provide solutions and services to match business needs and are IT security compliant
• Ensure that expectations are met and ensure high customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against SLAs
• Benchmark and implement industry best practices to mitigate potential threats to GE’s SSA IT infrastructure and operations
• Contextualize IT security findings to GE’s specific business risks or vulnerabilities and represent GE’s best practices and interests to internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies
• Design and implement procedures and controls necessary to ensure and protect the safety and security of all information systems assets, including prevention of intentional or inadvertent access, modification, disclosure or destruction
• May provide consulting services to technology program and project teams
• Provide technical and / or project leadership function for assigned projects
• Work with the GE’s global IT Risk team to ensure SSA requirements are addressed
IT Operations for French Speaking Africa
Site Related IT Delivery
• Develop and deliver the IT strategy for the local site that aligns to its business program needs under the direction of GE global IT teams
• Lead business case development for local site IT initiatives and represent those at enterprise level of PMO
• Partner with business and technology leaders to plan and execute key initiatives
• Keep up to date with changes to service offerings, technical capabilities and regulatory changes and align IT services at the site
• Communicate and educate local business leaders on IT solutions, capabilities and costs
Stable IT Operations
• Participate in local site initiatives that include, but are not limited to delivering: application builds and consolidations, tech refreshes, business integrations, site service and maturity assessments, service improvement, managed services and outsourcing agreements
• Manage the rooftop lifecycle of IT services commonly associated with infrastructure, end-user and client domains
• Assume primary responsibility for the execution and delivery of all IT services at the local site
• Participate in identifying and managing local site budgets and contracts
• Lead supplier management for day-to-day support, SLA monitoring and reporting
• Provide leadership and direction to site managed services and contractors
• Provide VIP/White Glove IT support to Executives and C-Level
• Support and facilitate the adoption and expansion of IT best practices
• Serve as Single point of escalation for IT related Services at site level
• Liaise with Helpdesk, EUS teams & Delivery Partners to ensure performance exceeds contractual SLAs
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Information Assurance, Operations Research, or related field
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience including Cyber security, Information Assurance, Information Security and Information Technology
• Industry standards certifications CISA, CISM, CISSP
• Demonstrated existing knowledge of IT capabilities and significant experience of providing IT site support in Africa
• Managing vendor contract and performance
• Demonstrating an ability to rapidly evaluate changing technologies and service options and apply them to the business environment
• Successfully employing systematic problem-solving techniques for root cause analysis and improvement efforts
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
• Ability to communicate concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong French oral and written communications skills
